Updates, Happy July 4th, and a few pictures from the last few days!

Our first venture out to hunt for corkscrews was successful; we did find corkscrews, and offered to buy a couple, but the seller was unwilling to drop price, so we settled on having lunch instead!

After returning from our antiquing excursion–which was followed by a trip to the wine store, we had a great dinner filled with wonderful conversation! And, a few bottles of wine.

The next morning we headed up the coast of Maine, antiquing along the way. This was followed by dinner at Primo in Rockland, and a night at the Limerock Inn.

Robert, Marie-France, the lovely and I, hopped on the boat to Vinalhaven, Maine yesterday. And after a rather brisk ride through a couple of fog banks, we made it to the island.

Thus far, it has been a fabulous few days with lots of wine, food, and a bit of antiquing for corkscrews. YES!, we have found corkscrews. We haven’t really bought any given they are either common or really expensive, but corkscrews have been found.

Last night the scrabble games commenced (more on this at a future date).

Today will begin the 4th of July festivities. The big event on the island is the parade, which will be followed by a lobster dinner at our house. Yesterday one of the lobstermen delivered 8 to our doorstep!

After taking this photo, the lobsters were quickly taken care of, as they seemed particularly attracted to Sue’s toes–also show in the picture.

It has been a great trip thus far, and it is only the beginning! More pictures and news to follow!!!
