Yesterday, we departed Boston (early) and drove up to Maine. After a brief lunch, we headed up to the Union Maine Antiques Show. The day was beautiful, and a couple of corkscrews were there to be had. The "find" was a nice stag handled henshall with faceted shank.
For those that wonder what could one possibly do on an island on a Sunday, this morning was an estate sale–the lovely found a cool cork puller for 25 cents. And, she also found a nice display case for corkscrews (amongst other things). After the estate sale, we met up with an artist who is doing an installation in our new (old) building. This was followed with a visit to Windy Way–where there was an island artisans sale of jewelry, turned bowls, and other great items. Next was a trip around the island to pick up some fresh eggs. Now, we are sitting and drinking wine waiting to head out to a musical performance. Of course, in between the hectic : ) schedule, I packed up a large box of corkscrew in preparation for London! These will be sent to an undisclosed secure location, where they will guarded by a rather large and cantankerous pug.
Pictures tomorrow, after I find my camera battery charger.
The Tucker should be at the post office box tomorrow, I will take pictures and post them if it does turn up.
