One for me. Two for Tipped Worm Johnny

The other day, I was emailed by a divesting collector who was seeking information about some of their corkscrews and openers. A couple looked interesting, so I decided to make an offer.

One isn’t a corkscrew, but is an ice pick with bottle opener and beer advertising for SCHELL BREWING CO. / NEW ULM, MINN. / YOUR BEST PICK / DEER BRAND BEER. After sending a picture to TWJ, he asked for me to put it in his pile–and when it arrives in a couple of days–it will be joining the Lion Beer roundlet mentioned yesterday. I can only wonder what TWJ is putting in the Josef pile 🙂

The other is a nice little peg and worm that I have never owned before. It looks to be Edwin Walker’s 1898 patent # 611,046.

I don’t know if it is marked, but a nice little corkscrew to add to the collection

The lovely bride and I are heading off the island today for a quick trip south. And, if time allows, perhaps a little antiquing on our way back this afternoon. If anything turns up, I will report back here.

And, remember, the ICCAuction starts tomorrow!!!!!
